The beaches are perfect for everyone! Very shallow sea, with very fine white sand color approaching both pink in several parts of the powder of crushed seashells. Offered to play pong and volleyball literally in the water. The beach has sun loungers and umbrellas. There is a lifeguard, showers, changing rooms, toilets and canteens with seats in the shade.

The sea depth is approximately below the knee. You should go fairly means not pressed.

For guests to make sure that your children will love and you will feel more secure such as are in the sea and play, and will of course be able to enjoy the sun and sea with more serenity and tranquility.

   The Monastery of Chrissoskalitissa

Plan to see up close the monastery Chrissoskalitissa that stands out from far, whitewashed and built up on a large rock. The Monastery of Panagia Chrisoskalitissa of Crete is one of the most famous shrines and sites in the Chania area. An amazing whitewashed building, built high on a large rock. Located 72 km. west of Chania, very close to the magnificent lagoon of Elafonissi. Tradition says that the sanctity of the site, begins with the presence (finding) the image of the Virgin Mary in the niche of the rock. This picture probably hid here the erea of iconoclasm 726-842 AD. It is said that it was found by a farmer who saw the vision flame oil lamp in the evenings. According to tradition, the last of the 98 steps that was built when the monastery was golden, but sold under Turkish rule.
On the day of Easter of the year 1824 was a great slaughter in Elafonisi by Turk. In their wake they ruined ten churches in the region. Passed by Chrisoskalitissa was deserted. They wanted to flatten, but prevented them a swarm of bees, which had for the cell niche located shrine which we see when we go to the monastery. In the area there is also a museum where those arriving will be able to see and learn the incredible history of the monastery. It is one of the landmarks of Southwest Crete that has kept alive the spirit of past centuries.
